This is the standard “M4” type 6 position adjustable stock as found on the US Military issue M4. About 1” taller in the heel than the older 4 position stock, most people find this new size much more comfortable when shooting.
This unit comes equipped with the “H” or “Heavy carbine buffer. This is an optional buffer that several manufacturers use in their fully automatic M16 carbines. When used in a semiautomatic carbine the advantage is subtle but it is none-the-less there. You have slightly less recoil, and on the reloading part of the firing cycle you have slightly more weight to help push the bolt carrier into the fully closed position. This results in slightly more reliable operation and this can help prevent a malfunction during times of heavy use. Anvil Arms uses the “H” buffer in all of the complete carbines we sell. They cost more, but to us, the increase in reliability for you is worth it.
